Wow. where to start….br /br /So HD Digital cable is unbelievably sharp. Especially sports. Especially the Nuggets.br /br /There is something to be said about movies or tv shows recorded before HD, like Senfield or a movie like Transformenrs. There is this thing about it at first you can’t get away from and its tough to explain. Its the 120Hz True motion tecnology that basicly “up-converts” dvd quality picture to try to get closer to HD quality by rounding, filling in, artificially rendering more frames, hence 120hz, opposed to telivisions 60hz. The manufacturer sets this on high, so it is quite noticable at first. After changing the setting in Advanced Controls It actually has a nice impact, and as long as I can change between Low, high, off, I’m Happy.br /br /The wireless runs smooth as silk but you need direct, non-obstruction, between box and front base of tv. The box is good. Nice amount of imputs of all kinds. compoters, old vcrs, whatever. currently mine is at a distance of 4 ft. but will be moving to 20ft. br /br /I mounted it on the wall, with an ultra thin 1″ wall mount. I had a small problem because the cord coming out the back was like 1.4 inches and i had to balance the otherside with something. But it is secure and looks great.br /br /The tv is an Energystar tv, so it has like 5 different power levels you can run. It also has this light sensor that can sense the ambient light in the room and ajust the brightness of the screen. So when its bright in the room the tv automatically adjusts brighter, and same whae it is dark, it dims to fit the suropundings.br /br /The stand is nice.br /br /The apperance of the tv itself is really beautiful. As you know it has a translicent outer boarder. Its kinda mocha-y chocolate hue. The liquid drop is sweet. it is off when the tv is off. it is red and moving when you turn it on, and a light white when tv is on. You can turn it off.br /br /Price, I found this at 1289$ with shipping, 1/5/10 I would not pay more. I was enitially looking for a 700$ tv but didnt have the level of quality, and dont for get the wireless!br /br /So I got just the powercord sticking out from the tv making it more flexable in room design. br /br /Thats about all I think needs ranting about. br /enjoy.

I’ve had the set for 30 days now. I had some early concerns on the whole Edge-Lighting thing but they turned out to be frivolous. The picture has been outstanding. Played Dark Knight and Underworld, and the set handled the contrasts and deep blacks superbly.
The thin design is a work of art. My set sits on a console (not mounted) and sets the room off nicely; no visible wires and elegant design.
The streaming functions are a nice feature; good integration with Amazon and Netflix. However, I’m pouzzled as to why there doesn’t appear to be a way to access free internet content via portals like Hulu, TV network sites and such, without a laptop. (Or I haven’t figured it out yet.)
One mild annoyance that has more to do with Sony than the XBR10: No wireless internet dongle available from Sony. The Samsung version only works with Samsung products. So if you don’t have a Ethernet port nearby, you’ll need a wireless bridge to use a wireless home network.

The number one reason why I got this unit was for the size and the wireless HD capabilities.br /I hang this unit over the fireplace with Sanus VMPL50B wallmount. br /The TV is about 60lbs, so you will need a friend to help you hang it up on the wall.br /The screws for wall mounting was already attach to the TV which was great.br /Once I have on the wall and after I plug in the power behind the TV, NO MORE other wires are needed. I put the wireless media box which came with the set about 10 feet away with no direct line of sight and was able to show HD tv with great clarity WIRELESSly… this is a great feature.br /br /I have wireless phone, internet and head sets which did not cause any interference with this TV.br /br /The 55LHX’s lg logo on the TV is where the TV’s receiver is, so if you stand right in front, you will see some static or no picture as you are no blocking the signal. But, I will know to avoid to stand right in front of the TV 
br /br /The viewing angle is good, I tilt it downwards about 12 degrees for less glare. The TV screen do not reflect much, but the black frame does.br /br /Just a note, with the 240HZ True motion on, sports looks very life like; but on movies it looks 3D ish, so shut I had to shut it off. Now I know why a 240Hz tv can possibly view 3d movies.br /br /I have a Pioneer plasma which still looks way better than this TV, but this TV is as good if not better than my sharp Aquos. So, maybe its a settings thing.br /br /There are lots of settings, but I have yet to find the best one, so please leave me a comment if you know what the best settings are….br /br /br /br /GL.
