I would put this next to any led tv
and ask you to explain why you feel the led
picture is better.Led tv is so over priced.
The audio and video on this tv is OUTSATNDING!!A+
I own 2 and they have been equally great,The led
lens are way too glossy ,the antiglare on this tv
rocks and still produces a stunning picture.
The sound is phenomenal for a lcd product.
This is a steal at this price,you won’t
be disappointed.The color reproduction
is phenomenal,the audio and video
calibration features are abundant
and effective,I have 2 of the latest
sharp aquos that can’t touch this.
I do not regret buying this product.

I have been using this tv on my desk to watch/listen to as I work and I think it is awesome! Now, you do have to understand that if you intend to buy this for its HDTV function, it only displays HD for HD digital tv signals over the air, using a antenna connected to it’s tv/ant cable connection. If your heart is set on connecting this tv to any external device such as a cable box, satellite box, dvd player, then you will be disappointed at the quality because even if the device is capable of displaying HDTV or HD quality, the RCA cable connection (and even the s-video connection) are not HD connections. This tv does not have any HD type of connection, it only displays HDTV signals received over the air with an antenna. br /Try playing anything in standard definition full screen on a 50 inch flat screen HDTV and then play something being transmitted in HDTV on the same tv in full screen and you will see the same effect of digital quality vs analog quality that this tv displays. Also keep in mind that not all programming being transmitted over the digital signals is not actually HD programming, it can also be standard def being transmitted digital. As for the sound, it is a bit tinny, but I have this tv connected (via the line out jack) to external speakers that have decent bass and clarity If you connect it to the cheapest quality external speakers you can find, the sound will not improve. Knowing all of this, for the price, I would buy this again if I needed to replace it, or needed another one to use in a similar manner that I use this one.

I actually own the 26″. I wasn’t too sure about buying it but the price was great. I think it is a great TV. It has surprised me in many ways. First I did’nt even know it was 110V/220V till my son plugged into the 220V socket and blew up the Wii but the TV survived. Also as we live abroad it did’nt need a converter for the cable system here. I am pretty sure it is PAL here although i did have to use a RF box to find the channel. I am sure there is a way to do it but I am not big on reading the manual. Anyway I love this TV, the colors are great.

I’ve had this unit for 5 months now, and it’s been wonderful! The picture is clean and crisp, the speakers are not what you might get with a Sony or others. But, it beats my Westinghouse 33′ for sure!
So, if you connect it to your stereo for sound, you’ve saved a whole lot of money!

While searching for a tv via various sites over a period of about 7 months I noticed a recurring theme- I became overly concerned with the negative feedback and starting ignoring good deals on great tvs. I then noticed that a lot of the negative feedback was either delivery related, service related or otherwise rare occurrence related. I then came to the realization that there will always be a chance that a product that you buy will be defective- that’s life.
I had been tracking this tv for about 6 months and saw the price vary (on Amazon) from 00 to about 00. Ever since the new Samsung LED tvs arrived on the scene, the old top of the line HD LCD tvs have lowered in price. Perfect timing. I went through Crutchfield which has listed the price at ,499.99- the lowest I have personally seen…ever.
So I finally pulled the trigger. FREE delivery, no sales tax, delievered within a week, perfect condition. 100% happy. Just a quick note, when I was doing my research I thought that some of the posts were from salesmen or written by a member of Samsung- please let me assure you that I’m just your average Joe who just purchased an amazing tv.
The good:
1. Excellent picture quality
2. Blue TOC matches my decor much better than the gaudy red TOC.
3. Easy setup.
4. The 120 Hz matched with the 4 ms refresh rate makes every channel so realistic it’s scary. You can really notice the difference- makes every HD channel look like a blu ray disc.
5. Easy calibration- it is automated so you don’t have to do anything. Best buy charges about 0 for calibration- ridiculous.
6. Extremely thin- amazing. I chose to mount this tv to a stand so the small depth allows me to push my stand very close to the wall to provide a “wall mounted effect” without the inconvenience of hiring an electrician to wire it up.
The “Bad”:
1. The sound- please read further…I put “bad” in quotes here because the less than desirable portions of a tv of this caliber cannot really be considered “bad”. For example, many posts suggest that the sound is “bad”. Honestly, this tv is ultrathin so what kind of speakers will fit into a tv that thin? Garner expectations intelligently. Buy a Samsung soundbar. They are ultrathin and will give you ten times more bang for your buck than trying to rely on stock speakers in any flat screen tv.
Take my word for it, awesome tv. Awesome bang for your buck. Just remember, save yourself some time don’t read the negatives.

I purchased this 42″ LCD about a month or so ago after a lot of research and shopping around. I did all of my due diligence with regard to seeing all comparable sets in person to get up close and personal with the options. etc. Hitachi makes a top notch product and does have great customer service as well. In fact, I have only called them once since installing the TV and it wasn’t even a question with regard to the LCD but moreso about an issue that turned out to be the interaction with my Blu-ray player and they took the time to troubleshoot the issue with success. Not to mention it was a painless wait to get to a support specialist and it wasn’t outsourced but rather based in California. br /br /This TV has a very sharp picture with true vibrant color that is spot on. I barely changed any of the factory settings with regard to the picture. The sound is decent but took some fiddling with the setups. I typically always watch this TV through the surround sound system plus I’m no audiophile so it’s fine for me when running through the unit speakers. The backlight can be a little bright in the corners from time to time but it is ONLY visible when the screen is completely black. You can eliminate this if you chose to do so by setting it to a lower level. I love the picture as is and have opted to leave it be. The trade off is the best picture I feel the TV has to offer…no biggie.br /br /I shopped around for a while to get the best deal and ended up purchasing this at Sam’s Club for 7 in early December 09′. Absolutely worth the price and in my opinion it is a superior unit over comparable Vizeo’s, Samsungs, etc…

We bought the Haier 26″ TV about three months ago, and absolutely love it. I must admit, we were coming from a 15-year-old 19″ TV, so this is our first flat-panel LCD TV. However, I must say I was really surprised by the great picture we’ve gotten with this TV. I did a lot of research, and have looked at a lot of TVs in the big box shops. This TV has nice deep blacks and vibrant colors. Just make sure you have an HDMI cable, the standard video cable inputs will give you very strange boxing of the video feed.br /br /Though I really enjoy the TV, there are a few cons. The most major one is the lack of dynamic recognition of the incoming video type. We watch mostly DVDs, and the TV does not automatically recognize whether the video feed is widescreen or standard, so you must choose the video type each time. (This is really annoying on some DVDs as the menu or previews may be standard, while the main show is widescreen.) The TV comes with a really nifty universal remote, but the volume control ONLY works for the TV, and the control buttons don’t fully match up to our DVD player (a new model Philips). Also, the TV is very slow to respond to the remote, it is also slow to turn on and off. Overall, these are minor complaints to what is a very nice TV. We really love it.

I ordered and received the model off the Philips outlet store 9 – 0 discount which I consider a very good deal. The set arrived quickly and in good condition. br /br /None of the accessories other than a stand were included (ac cord, remote control, cables and wall mount) with the original shipment. A call to Phillips customer support got a quick response that they will send the items as the become available. The ac cord arrived in two days with a packing slip stating stand and remote are back-ordered.
