Has a good picture and more features then anything I was able to find at any price, and this was just a little over 200 bucks.First of all the 2 things that is not at par for me is that its so new my cable remote don’t have the code for it so I have to use the remote that came with it for volume. Plus the remote don’t work unless your under 10 feet from the set.br /I have it in my garage so the dvd works great for plans that I buy on dvd and the usb slot is great for pictures or other info as is the camera card slot. If your gonna put it on the wall as I did don’t forget the wall mount that they suggest with it, () you can’t get one any cheaper. Beleive me I tryed, not even wal-mart………If I get 5 years out of it I figure I got my $$$$$$ worth.

I ordered this TV as a replacement for the one in our kitchen. Actually it was a Christmas gift for my wife. We both absolutely love it. It has a great picture and looks great with silver/black appliances we have. I know some have complained about the sound quality, but for us it is perfect. I think it would also fit good in a small bedroom or such. Get it, you won’t be disappointed.

When over-the-air digital TV became the law of the land, I decided to replace the 13″ CRT TV in my bedroom with a small widescreen LCD set, and after much research selected this Vizio VA19L. I’m satisfied I couldn’t have made a better choice.
My old CRT set with an indoor antenna never delivered anything but two VHF channels, one pretty well and the other just barely watchable. Since it didn’t give me any UHF whatever, I was concerned about whether I’d get anything on OTA digital since that uses UHF frequencies. To my pleasant surprise, this Vizio on an indoor antenna gives me 17 digital channels in excellent quality, five of them HD. And standard 480i programming looks great on it too, which is certainly not true of all HDTVs.
It also replaces the 19″ widescreen monitor I had on the computer cart beside my bed. The TV’s 1366×768 resolution does not exactly match any standard computer resolution, but again to my surprise, the old Radeon 9600 graphics card in my small form factor system provides 1360×768 which fills the screen perfectly while properly maintaining aspect ratio. And I find my Samsung NC10 netbook does also, though I don’t really expect to use that much with the Vizio.
Reading other reviews here I see a number of users complaining about the sound quality and angle of view. I think the sound is just fine for a small set, speech is nice and clear, and since I’m hard of hearing I would sure notice it if it weren’t. As for angle of view, perhaps those complaining were used to CRTs. Of course all LCD flat panels have noticeable light fall-off when viewed from an extreme angle, and I have seen some laptop monitors where this was very bad, but the Vizio is just fine as far as I’m concerned — seems about as good to me as the 32″ Samsung I have in the living room.
There are even a few things that I like a lot better than the bigger set. On my Samsung there’s just one button for changing inputs, which means you have to cycle through several to change from TV to DVD player and/or whatever else you have connected. On this Vizio there’s a separate button on the remote for each input, which is much more convenient. Also, the Guide button on the remote brings up brief program info not only about what’s playing now, but also what’s on the schedule for several hours ahead. This is very handy, though I suppose it may depend on the particular stations in your area — I don’t know if it does this on cable also since I don’t use this TV on cable.
I’ve had this Vizio now for about seven months, no problems of any kind, and it gets an easy five stars from me. I like it so much I’m just about to order the 22″ Vizio VA220E which seems identical except for screen size, for my home office.

Don’t pay too much attention to the negative reviews. I bought this refurbished TV from Amazon in May and have it mounted on the bedroom wall. Picture (SD/HD) and SRS sound are good. Start-up is a little slow, around 10 sec. Also manual touch controls are a little sensitive, takes a while to get used to. You can always use the remote, which works fine. Remote must have RF, since I can point it at the opposite wall and it still works. Shop around, go for this 2007 model if you can get it for 0 or less. Otherwise, get the L19A331 model.
Useful tip: for wall mount, top of TV should not be more than a couple of inches above eye level. Otherwise, picture will be a little dark.

Pros: Great picture, good sound.
Cons: Most of these televisions do not work properly. To date, it seems no one has figured out the root cause. Even the “REFURBISHED” units have this problem.
Summary: I HAVE FOUND AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. You see, the video processor is mounted under a shield “can” on the mainboard. It gets very hot during normal operation and will cause the set to shut down, squeal through the speakers, not turn on after a few hours and so forth.
All of this can be mitigated by removing the shield can and installing a small 12VDC fan to the heatsink. Don’t worry, removing the shield doesn’t effect tuner operation or cause undesirable operation.
I used self-drilling screws, taking care to remove all aluminum bits with a few blasts of compressed air. #6 screws fit perfectly between the fins on the heatsink. 12V is available on the main board (it is actually labeled on the power supply). Note that the 12V drops to 11.4V when the set is turned “off”, so the fan runs continuously. If you buy a quiet ball bearing type you will likely never hear it running. If it’s still too loud, install a 10 ohm 2W resistor inline with the positive lead of the fan. It will run more slowly, but still move adequate air. Cover the resistor in heat shrink tubing (and shrink it) to avoid shorts to the mainboard.
You might even be OK just removing the can without installing the fan, but I didn’t try this.

Got this as an open-box item through Warehouse Deals which worked out completely well. The TV has, as others noted, a good picture and unimpressive sound; plenty loud, but tinny. But for a kitchen counter, it works, it set up rapidly and looks good whether on or off. And in the DTV channel era now here, the set is finding some very interesting channels being delivered by cable that I hadn’t seen before.

I purchased the 19″ Coby TV for a spare bedroom to mainly watch the news in the morning or while working on the computer. I paid 7.00 which include tax and shipping in that cost. I am very pleased in what I received.I know some other reviews had issues with the sound and quickness of turning on. I am very pleased in the TV, since I do not own an expensive high quality large screen TV at this time, there is no need to compare it with our other TV. It works well for us.Thank you

I bought this TV not too long ago. And so far, its been a positive experience. For the past 5 years, I have been using this tiny little 15 inch Magnavox TV. Granted, the old TV is still in working condition, even though the closed captions are permanently stuck on. But it was time to upgrade. An Xbox 360 cannot be used to its full potential on a tiny little standard definition TV.
So after some research and looking around, I came across this TV. I heard Toshiba was a reliable brand, so I went for it. I wasn’t disappointed. I’m going to categorize some key points on what I thought of this TV.
INPUTS: First thing that drew me to the TV is the inputs. The disappointing thing about TVs in this size range is that they have usually only have 1 of each input (HDMI, composite, etc). However, this TV has basically two of every input except VGA and S-Video, which it only has 1 of each (however you generally do not need more than one of those anyway). So if you have a lot of devices that need to be plugged in, you will have plenty of inputs without needing an external switch. Also, I will note, do not spend more than for a HDMI cable. A cheap one off of Amazon will do just as well as a Monster Cable one. Also, you can use a computer’s DVI out on this TV as well. All you need is a DVI-HDMI cable and the TV will treat it as a HD source.
PICTURE: The picture is vibrant and bright for most conditions. Granted that you set it up right. I used one of those “THX Optimizers” that come on Pixar DVD’s. It will walk you through setting up the the brightness and contrast, since those are the most critical parts of setting up an HDTV. It will make blacks as close to black as possible and colors not washed out. Remember, brighter, does not make a better picture! Also, it does have a feature to make analog cable channels have a little less static which makes them look somewhat better. It also has a “gaming mode” which will disable unnecessary video processing features in order to reduce the TVs response time, which is good for gamers. If you want to use this TV as a computer monitor, make sure you set the TV to “Dot by Dot” in the picture size settings. This will ensure you have a perfect 1:1 pixel ratio, like on a standard computer monitor, which will prevent text front getting blurred.
AUDIO: The speakers are decent. You really can’t expect great speakers out of small TVs, especially flat panel ones. However, they are good enough for everyday use. However, if you can, take advantage of audio out. You can plug it into a stereo or some computer speakers and get some great sound. The audio out volume is also controlled by the TV. The TV also features a digital optical audio out along with analog stereo out. NOTE: This TV does NOT have a headphone jack out! However, you CAN use the analog stereo out as a headphone jack with an adapter.
Overall I am completely satisfied with this product. I will probably recommend this to a friend since his old TV just died on him!

I’m not sure how the other guy could not find the power button because it’s right on the front in the lower-right corner…you can see it in the pictures, for crying out loud. br /br /But anyways, I got this TV to use as a second monitor for my laptop. It is a fine machine and synchronized well with both MacOS X and Windows XP. I hooked it up with HDMI instead of VGA. All the picture and audio settings are there to let you fine-tune yours to get a good picture and sound out of it. It will accept 1080i, as I hooked up my Xbox 360 and it recognized it on the TV as 1080i. It has a fantastic picture and I noticed no lag between controller input and screen output – while playing Guitar Hero, nonetheless – as I think it has a 5 ms response time. br /br /It’s an excellent TV for the price, and I believe mine was a lot cheaper when purchased at Target (0). br /br /Crisp picture, easy to use settings, accepting of all formats. Good TV. And yes, I could find the power button, and the remote works just fine.
