We bought this TV at sams club and we got a 300 dollar in store gift card. We bought the TV for 1200, do the math…good deal!br /br /Anyway, we were pleasantly surprised by how this tv makes our regular DVD’s look HIGH DEF. For this, we’re going to hold off on Blue-ray for awhile.br /br /The TV is 120hz so the motion of the camera and subjects in the movie seem to move around different, but the quality is awsome.br /br /I don’t have a lot of Electronic jargon to throw at you but you need to know you won’t be disappointed with this TV. The TV even has audio plug ins for 5.1 surround sound…I’ve only seen this on computers and receivers.br /br /I’m not sure when the best time to buy a TV is since the price are always coming down. My advice is don’t buy a TV with less than 120hz and 29,000:1 contrast ratio (depending on your budget). Because this is the cream of the crop right now…well you can get a contrast ratio better than that, but realistically, you shouldn’t get anything lower than that.br /br /Sears or most stores give you 60 days to keep your reciept for price matching. if you own a club membership, I highly recommend you look there first and ask about free giftcards with a large purchase like this. br /br /

I bought this item as a store demo for use in our master bedroom. It seemed okay with some slight wear, but it was the right choice. With a DVR from our cable company, the picture quality is outstanding, with at least good sound quality. It does take a little while to turn on and to change functions, such as between inputs, but it’s not a big deal. With plenty of analogue inputs, and 2 HDMI inputs, it should be versatile enough for most needs, including a high-def source such as satellite TV or high-def cable, and of course a home theater system with an upscaling DVD player. Sharp has an excellent reputation for high-quality products with low rate of repair needs, so I would recommend this TV to anyone looking for a really fine quality 720p 32″ LCD HDTV. The remote control is also very user-friendly.

I have been using my Samsung LCD TV for several months now. I am very pleased with the picture, even though I have not yet changed my cable service to HD. I continue to be amazed at how good regular TV images can be. I was watching a show when a commercial came on that depicted either clouds or an explosion at high-speed. I caught it out of the corner of my eye and my reaction was “WOW!” What must HD be like on this set? Eventually, I will find out.

The TV has a nice array of settings to play around with for your viewing pleasure — but my “but…” from above is the lack of having a way of changing the aspect ratio directly from the remote. As it is, that setting is buried in the menu tree. A real pity, as regular cable has a variety of aspect ratios in use, and I am frequently changing that setting.

All in all, I am still happy with my Samsung. I would definately recommend this manufacturer.

I purchased this TV with the idea it may retire to my bedroom after a while with a larger replacement – thus I didn’t go top of the line (250hz LED,etc). Though I was pleasantly surprised with the clean appearance, ease of set up, great picture, excellent sound (for a TV), and the broadband/netcast features are nice.

I have a Blu-ray player that allows me to stream netflix, though not having to turn on that device and be able to stream netflix directly to this TV is a nice feature. Via use of USB (or I can only assume, NAS Storage device via ethernet) you can watch downloaded TV shows/Movies with ease. (playback of avi, mpeg, mkv, etc) As well as view photos and play music.

120hz is a little surreal at times but that’s true with any TV – though it looks great on sports – I’ve also noticed on some HD channels that are known to knock out ever other frame (ABC…) the 120hz at LOW setting seems to smooth back the playback a little. Though I generally have it turned off. the 24p Cinema mode, when coupled with a blu-ray player gives a nice smooth playback. Dynamic contrast and “Eye Care” settings are good for watching movies in the dark without having scenes that go so bright they blind you.

I was surprised by the quality of the audio coming from the built in speakers. The ‘invisible speaker’ stuff this TV touts is actually nice, there are no visible speakers on the unit, yet it sounds full. Granted heavy bass does drop out – but this is one of the first TV’s I’ve been comfortable listening to the audio from directly. (Minus the old school Monster projector TVs with the 10 speakers below the screen). Though I have this set up via optical cable to my 5.1 Surround – the week or 2 I didn’t have that set up I wasn’t cringing at bad sound.

The price doesn’t drop as low as the 42LH40 or LH30 price – but with the added features of the broadband and netcast, I don’t regret spending the extra cash. I got the TV in late January for 9 shipped.

This is my first fullsized LCD display – I can’t say its ‘The Best’ but for the price, features, and overall quality – I feel this product in the range of similar projects holds true – which is why I gave it a 5 Star rating.

my suggestion for the people complaining about picture quality is to buy a hd tuner for 0 (but cheaper on ebay) to get true over the air hdtv.
