Note that this TV will work with 110- 220V and with NTSC as well as PAL signal- thus this is a truly multisystem TV and that was a key criterion for me. I compared this also to the only somewhat multisytem TV on the market(Sharp) Additionally:br /br /Positives:br /1. VERY natural picture- people have mentioned the 3D effect in HD- it is true, you can actually feel the depth in the studio behind the newscaster. Natural skin tones – very comfortable on the eye. Sharp had a more “smudged” color feelbr /2. Decent SD. Since it is 52″ please do not sit nearer than 8 feet to view SD or you will be disappointed in any 52″ TV, but I think this TV does a good job on SD.br /3. Very easy set up- no need to spend $ on professional calibration. The Sharp I had to keep calibrating again and again.br /4. Enough inputs options. 4 HDMIs, 2 component, 1 S and 1 Composite, 1 USB. No computer input though unless use DVIbr /5. Comes with swivel standbr /6. Great in bright light, although in high amount of sunlight the contrast gets washed out.br /br /Negatives:br /1. Digital natural motion and 120Hz don’t seem to make much of a difference for me. MAybe there is something to it- I am yet to see it clearly.br /2. Picture gets grayer as you move away from the center of the TV. Sharp had less of an issuebr /3. Decent profile/ looks- simple black bezel, but Sharp is thinner and lighter and better looking though. This one is heavy- much more than Sharpbr /br /As for the Sony and Samsung enthusiasts, please go for them if you have the extra $, they definitely have a better picture and you should judge the price/ value equation. I had to rule them out as they are not Multisystem.br /br /Finally I struggled a lot about Plasma vs. LCD (over 6 months actually), ultimately the weight, power requirement and bright light compatibility moved me in favor of LCD.br /br /Godd luck!

This is an excellent TV.br /br /Picture Quality:br /The picture quality of this set is superb. In the setup menu, I set the picture to “vivid” mode and the HD quality is simply life-like. The color and contrast are excellent. It also uses something that Sony calls MotionFlow which helps to smooth out the image when you are watching fast-action pictures.br /br /Backlight Technology:br /It is an LCD set, but uses a hot cathode fluorescent lamp for its backlighting. This technology allows it to be much more energy efficient and close to par with the energy usage of LED backlit LCD TVs. Most LCDs use cold cathode fluorescent lamps. The 40″ model uses a maximum of 140 watts, the 46″ uses a max of 160 watts, and the 52″ uses a max of 180 watts.br /br /br /Eco-Friendly:br /It has a sensor called a presence sensor that does two things. First it senses the ambient (room) light and if the room gets darker, it will automatically dim the picture of the TV. This works well if you are watching TV in the bedroom at night and you want less light output. The second thing that the sensor does is senses the room for motion and body heat. If you leave the room for a preset amount of time (5 min, 30 min, …) and the TV doesn’t sense anyone around, it will turn off the picture. If you walk back in the room, it senses you and turns the screen back on. The sound stays on for another 30 minutes or so, then the whole set will go into stand-by mode if it does not sense you. Both of these features can be turned off via the setup menu and help to conserve energy. br /br /Features (just a few of them):br /The TV is loaded with features. It will automatically sense if you have something connected to an input (for example HDMI2). This is great when you want to hit the input button on the remote because it will not select items that aren’t currently sending out a signal. This means you don’t have to scroll through 10 items if you only have two components connected to the TV. In the setup menu, you can set each input for always on, always off, or auto. I used the always on setting for the PC input because the cable I used to connect the PC did not send a power signal so the TV did not sense it. By setting it to always on, the PC input will always be available when I scan through the inputs.br /br /It also has a lot of inputs. There are 4 HDMI inputs. If you have a DVI port on your PC, then you can connect it through HDMI port 1 which also has an analog audio input. There is one dedicated composite (with S-video) and one dedicated component input, but there is another switchable composite/component input that you can use if you have two composites and one component, or vice versa. There is a PC input to connect via VGA connection. The audio outputs are one optical digital out and one analog out.br /br /br /br /br /br /Dislikes:br /1. All of the Inputs and Output are on the left side (when looking at the front of the TV) of the TV. This is unfortunate for me since my A/V cabinet is on the right side of the TV. It is a minor inconvenience, but something that I did not think about until I got the set home. I would say about half of the inputs are one the left side and the other half are on the back, next to the side inputs.br /br /2. The presence sensor is right where I have my center audio speaker. I will have to raise up the TV to still have that speaker front and center.br /br /br /Overall, this is not a cheap TV, but I think this is a case where you get what you pay for. It is a really great set.br /br /

I find it kind of funny that anyone who owns the laservue is very quick to rate it with 5 solid stars, yet people who don’t own one can’t afford it, or simply think it is overpriced, are really quick to give it 1 star. These are the people who really wish they could have one.
If you want the best 65″ television in the world, by all means get a laservue. The colors, black levels, picture quality, and efficiency are just amazing, which is what you really want in a TV at the end of the day.

I wanted a tv to mount on my bedroom wall and decided on this one.br /The slim design is good. The picture is excelent. The picture from the dvd player is excelent. The one draw back is the sound is so “quiet” when watching a DVD movie. The sound does not seem to increase higher than the fifty percent level even though the volume is truned up to one hundred percent. The sound from the TV chanels is fine. It is a good thing that my hearing is ok.

I’ve never ordered anything this large and expensive online before so I was nervous about my purchase. In the end everything turned out perfect, The TV arrived without any scratches, no dead pixels, or other defects. The “Pilot” delivery service sent 2 guys who were nice and set up the TV for me and made sure it worked.
About the TV: No complaints. The TV is everything it says it is in the above description so it’s all I expected it to be.
My only wish is that there was a headphone jack on this TV but there isn’t.
Little warning about what to expect with a 1080p HDTV. Before I did some research I assumed that everything I watched on this TV would be a big improvement over my previous 720p HDTV but I was wrong. The only things that are improvements over a 720p is 1080p content which is pretty much just blu-ray movies. Cable TV, Playstation 3 videogames, Xbox 360 videogames, are all 720p. And content that is native 720p looks best on a 720p tv. So I did notice that cable and video games looked slightly better on my previous 720p tv but Blu-ray movies looked best on this 1080p TV.
Over all I am very satisfied with my purchase and recommend this TV.
